Michael James Custom Homes was established to provide luxury, quality, and value to clients with specific needs and desires relating to home design.

MJCH has worked with the finest materials available from hard surfaces to lighting and plumbing fixtures. Our designs serve the unique needs of our customers.

We know that every client has different priorities and we have yet to meet the client who feels ”money is no object.” therefore, watching your bottom line is very important to us.

Many builders list numerous “standard features” on their web sites and marketing material. The words “standard” and “custom” should never be attached to the same product.  Our customers set their own features based on their unique priorities. It would be counter-productive for a builder/designer to impose his/her own priorities on the client. This is the distinct difference between a custom home and a semi-custom home with “standard features.”

Should you decide to build with MJCH or hire another builder, there are some things you should consider:

1. Beware of a builder who can quote you a square footage price for your new custom luxury home. The only way this can be done is if the builder has built the same home before and has fixed costs from subcontractors and material suppliers. In this case you will not be getting a custom home.  This tactic is also used by unscrupulous builders who intentionally underbid a project only to come back to the home owner during construction for additional funds needed for completion.

2. Ask for references and check with the Better Business Bureau for complaint history information.
